What began as a leadership project for an aspiring Eagle Scout and Naperville resident, Thomas Welsh, has turned into the gift of furniture for our families. From the fundraising through a car wash to the upgrading from plywood to real wood, Thomas led a team to build six fully finished three-shelf bookcases that will directly benefit families.
"I am glad a lot of people are finding out about Sharing Connections from this project. It is a great organization," said Thomas.
It is donations like this from the community that continue to allow us to serve the families that come to us each day for assistance. As for Thomas's project, six families will be provided the high quality bookcases for their child's room.
"This couldn't have come at a better time as we're able to provide both the bookcases from Thomas's project and the new books from Barnes & Noble to our families," said Ryan Varju, Director of Operations and Technology with Sharing Connections Furniture Bank. |
