Sharing
Connections proudly works directly with pre-approved social workers, family counselors, schools, and local non-profit organizations to assist families that are in need of furniture and household items.
We
provide gently used furniture and
household items to families struggling at the poverty level with fire, flood, job loss, domestic
violence relocation and veterans suffering from war trauma by
providing them with the items they
cannot afford to purchase. |

| Does
Sharing Connections sell
the furniture and household
items? |
|
A: |
No.
We are not open to the
public nor do we sell items to the public. To promote a
sense of ownership and
encourage self sufficiency,
we do charge a $50 access
fee to use our services
- regardless of the
amount of items provided.
This minimal charge
helps us to continue
to provide this service and clients work directly
with their social worker or case manager in planning for
payment of this fee. |
| Who does Sharing Connections serve? |
| A: |
We serve individuals from all over the Chicagoland area that are referred by approved agents. |
| What does the agent do that makes their role so important? |
A: |
Pre-approved referring agents take a tour of our facility to understand the role we will play in helping a family make a house a home and to fully understand how important it is to only refer those that qualify for our service. It is the role of the agent to verify household income, perform home visits, and through their professional services measure the need of the client that they directly work with prior to referring them to use our services. |
| What
