Our Commitment

Sharing Connections is able to assist families in our communities because generous individuals donate their gently used household items to us. We respect the dignity of the families we serve, and the items you give to Sharing Connections Furniture Bank go directly into a family’s hands and to make their house a home. Therefore, we ask that your donations be in good, "gently used" condition – not broken, ripped or soiled - so that a family would be proud to have them in their home.

New Cleaning Supplies & Personal Care Products

When available, we try to provide each family that visits us with enough new cleaning supplies and personal care items for their home & family. See the list below:

• Toothpaste/brush

• Deodorant

• Shaving Cream/razor

• Toilet Paper

• Diapers (all sizes)

• All Purpose Cleaner

• Dish Detergent

It takes more then just furniture to serve a family - that is why we also provide housewares to each family when there is a need. See the list below:

It is so important that we respect the families we serve by providing top quality items - that is why our quality standards are so high.

Baby Items

New mothers are top on our priority list - as it's important they have what they need for the little ones in their lives. See the list below:

• Cribs (non-drop side) / Portable Cribs

• Car Seats (under 6 yrs. old)

• Strollers

• High Chairs

• Booster Seats

• Changing Table

• New Diapers and Wipes

• New Baby Bottles, Pacifiers (non-food items)

• All Infant Clothing

Cribs & Pack-N-Plays/Portable Cribs are a priority as we want to make sure all babies have a safe place to sleep.

Clothing & Misc Items

As the seasons change we want our families to be able to get much needed "like-new" clothing. In addition, we offer smaller misc. items as an extra plus. See the list below:

The NEW toys and school supplies help us run our Christmas & Back-To-School program each year.

Are There Items That Cannot Be Donated?

While we do sincerely appreciate you choosing us for your donations, due to space constraints and the need for us to concentrate on serving families in need of necessary home furnishings and household items, we cannot take everything.

On your next visit, please ask one of our staff or volunteers for a tour to see how we use our space and donations that are provided to us by donors like you! If you'd like to pre-schedule a tour, please contact Sue Ekins at 630-971-0565, x225 or via email at sekins@sharingconnections.org.

• Headboards/Footboards without the mattress & box (we DO accept Metal bed frames)

• Indoor children’s playsets(?)

• Adult/Children's books (donate to your local library)
