In honor of Dave, the Sharing Connections Furniture Bank Board of Trustees has established the Dave Cain Memorial Fund, which will be used for the trucks (gas, maintenance, repairs, etc.) This is an important cause because the trucks are aging, and they are critical for both attaining furniture for clients and delivering it to needy individuals who do not have the resources to come in.

Dave Cain was an incredible person who served as a board member for the Chicago Boys’ Club and worked with Hesed House. Dave was instrumental in supporting an impoverished school in Chicago, St. Ethelreda. In recent years, he has been going into prisons to teach prisoners how to read and write. He and his widow, Marge, have been very active and well-known at their church, Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville. For example, he and Marge ran a Diversity Fair at the parish. He also served as co-chair of a committee dedicated to serving people in New Orleans.

Dave has been a long time supporter of Sharing Connection Furniture Bank and is an inspiration to us all.
