2016: YEAR IN REVIEW In order to have a successful 2017 we have to take a moment to reflect on the past year of services so that we can help make sure our services are successfully reaching as many families as possible. After sifting through a lot of data, the biggest roadblock to successfully serving more families is the reschedule rate and the rate of unsuccessful pickups. Think of it...for every appointment that is rescheduled, that takes two spots off the appointment schedule extending the wait time to use our services. One for the original appointment and one for the reschedule. Now let's add to that scenario when the client doesn't show for the rescheduled appointment. Two possible spots are now lost. With only 1,400 available spots to schedule during a service year, each available appointment becomes that much more important to the family that is waiting. For example, of all the available appointments in 2016, only 67% successfully showed. Now, any client that calls to schedule an appointment is actually scheduling an entire month out. This is due in part to the amount of rescheduled and missed appointments - over 450 in 2016. 2017: LOOKING AHEAD At any given time, there are over 200 referrals waiting to be scheduled in our system and over 170 new referrals received each month (over 2,000 each year). As we continue to offer our services in the new year, we will be focusing on increasing the amount of families assisted as we expand our network in the suburban areas that have a great need but fewer resources. Through this outreach and expansion we look forward to serving more families and working toward achieving our goal of a 75% success rate in 2017. |
